Marie, Michigan (1855), originally collected by either the Michigan Geological Survey or the Michigan Lands Division. Documents claims extending south of Spruce Street as surveyed by Thomas Whelpley, U.S. Deputy Surveyor. Registered with the Land Office, Sault Ste. Marie on June 18, 1855. Certificate of approval signed by Leander Chapman, Surveyor General. Also includes diagram of a claim of Alva Cable, claim no. 131.
